The Metal Bender line of wines are named in honor of the Stringer Family’s manufacturing business in Wisconsin. The business stamps, machines and fabricates metal into components used in industries throughout America. They are “Metal Benders”

Tasting Notes

The 2022 Metal Bender Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon expresses warm vintage Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics. It pours a deep purple with an expressive nose of blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry. The full-bodied palate is rich and velvety, with structured yet polished tannins supporting flavors of dark fruit, espresso, and graphite. Well-integrated oak adds hints of vanilla and tobacco, leading to a long, lingering finish with echoes of dark chocolate and plum.

Varietal Composition:

90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah

Aging:

18 Months in 65% new french oak barrels

Vineyards:

The 2022 Metal Bender Cabernet Sauvignon come from different vineyards situated all throughout the Napa Valley. From Calistoga to Carneros and Oakville to Atlas Peak, many of the sub-AVAs of Napa are included. These are all the same fruit
sources used in Stringer’s higher end bottlings.

Winemaking:

The 2022 Metal Bender is as a barrel selection of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and few select Petite Sirah barrels added for color, mouthfeel and structure. The wine spent an average of 21 days on its skins before pressing.
