Kick Ranch Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Vineyard:

Kick Ranch is a hillside vineyard located on the Sonoma side of Diamond Mountain in the new Fountain Grove District AVA.  Located at the eastern edge of the Petaluma Gap, the maritime breezes balance the intense afternoon sun.   A combination of pleasant hare and volcanic soils are the result of an ancient alluvial fan.  This soil allows for ideal drainage and forces the vines to dig deep for water and nutrients.

The Clone 317 Sauvignon Blanc we are sourcing from this renowned vineyard is low yielding and produces extremely concentrated fruit.  The resulting wine shows a distinct richness balanced by minerals and lively acidity.

 Winemaking:

The hand harvest fruit was hand harvested and gently crushed before being pressed directly to neutral French oak barrels for fermentation. It went through native fermentation before being aged for 18 months on its lees.  The wine was bottled unfiltered and unfined.
